No KYC, daily rakeback and sky high wagering — it’s Betplay
Launched in 2020, Betplay.io is a slick “KYC-free” crypto casino and sportsbook operating without a license from Costa Rica. While it does offer thousands of slots, crash, table, and live casino games, its Web3 pretensions appear to be mostly marketing fluff.
In this original CoinBets Betplay casino review, I’ll be signing up, wagering real crypto, and looking under the hood. I’ll be paying particular attention to the welcome bonus, crypto payments, games catalog, features, and VIP program.
So, is Betplay really the “Top Crypto Casino and Sportsbook on the Internet”, as it claims, or just another shady pretender? Let’s find out.
-
Casino credentials and player protection
-
Bonus size, terms, and fairness
-
Sign-up speed and steps
Betplay is operated by Lama Tech Limitada (Company No. 3-102-857685), based in San Jose, Costa Rica. It is operating without any online gambling license.
The site connection is secure and the security certificate is valid

At the time of writing, the Betplay welcome bonus was worth 100% on your first deposit, up to 50,000 mBTC (or 50,000 milli-Litecoins, 1,300 milli-Ethereum, 180 million Shiba Inu, 12,000 Doge Coin, 750 TON, 3,400 TRX, 2,000 XRP, 5,000 USDC, 5,000 USDT, and 20 SOL).
But as always, let’s break the bonus down CoinBets style:
After making your first deposit, you have 7 days to claim the offer.
Once claimed, the wagering must be completed within 7 days.
Wagering is 80x your total deposit amount.
Max bet while wagering is 1,000 micro-bitcoins, 500 milli-litecoins, 20 dogecoins, 10 mili-ethereum, 10 USDT/USDC, 200 TRX, 20 XRP, or 90,000 Shiba Inu.
All live dealer and table games, plus selected other games, are excluded.
Bonus is only paid once you have completed wagering.
Okay, so initial thoughts? Awful. 80x wagering? That’s pretty much double the average. I highly recommend you read the CoinBets guide to crypto casino bonuses before claiming this offer.
Signing up for Betplay is simple enough, but you can only do it with your email – so much for the casino’s Web3 marketing efforts!
Click “Sign Up”, enter your email and set a strong password, enter a promo code if you have one, and agree with the Terms of Service. Then tap “Create Account.”

Note that despite Betplay advertising itself as a KYC-free casino, the Terms of Service specifically prohibit players from Aruba, Austria, Bonaire, Curacao, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Hungary, Isle of Man, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Martinique, Reunion, Slovakia, Mayotte, United States, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Poland.

Hence, if you play from one of these countries/regions, you’re breaking the user agreement and giving the casino an excuse to close your account and seize your funds. This is all the more concerning because, at least according to Ahrefs data, the vast majority of organic traffic to Betplay.io comes from a prohibited country – specifically, the United States.

Payments
Betplay.io supports a reasonable range of popular cryptocurrencies for deposits and withdrawals. As always, remember to take crypto market fluctuations into consideration when gambling.
Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals:

To make a crypto deposit, tap “Deposit” and choose your desired crypto and network if applicable. You will be provided with a unique Betplay wallet deposit address in both QR code and text formats.

To withdraw crypto, tap “Deposit” and then select “Cash Out” (or choose “Cash Out” from your profile menu). Choose the appropriate crypto and network, then paste your wallet address and enter the amount you want to cash out. Review the details and estimated transaction fees, and if it all looks good, confirm the withdrawal.

CoinBets.com Tip: Always double-check crypto wallet addresses after pasting them – you don’t want to fall victim to ‘PasteJacking’. This is when hackers exploit the copy-paste function to change wallet addresses to steal funds.
Fiat deposits: Although Betplay does claim to accept cash deposits via Mastercard and Visa, the link was not working at the time of review.

WARNING: According to the Betplay.io user agreement, an account is considered to be inactive if it is dormant for just 6 months. After this time, the account balance will be deducted.
Yes, you read that right – the casino will steal all your funds after just 6 months of inactivity.

Game Selection
Betplay carries over 8,500 casino games of all types from around 60 providers — a very respectable portfolio, and up there with the biggest crypto casinos. The lobbies are reasonably well organized with some basic categories and filters – though more granular options would make browsing easier.

In common with most crypto casinos, the vast majority of games at Betplay are slots. At the time of writing this Betplay review, Pragmatic Play was stealing the limelight with titles like Gates of Olympus 1000, Sweet Bonanza, and Fruit Party. TNT Bonanza from Booming Games, Atlas Unleashed from Spinomenal, Money Train 2 from Relax Gaming, and Mental from NoLimit City were also very popular.
If you just can’t get enough payways, you’ll be happy to learn that Betplay has hundreds of Megaways slots. The most popular included Zillard King Megaways from Red Tiger, Majestic Fury Megaways from Blueprint Gaming, and Madame Destiny Megaways from Pragmatic. There’s also a modest selection of jackpot slots, like Magic Spins: Hold the Jackpot – Collect to Infinity from Voltent, Rainbow Jackpots from Red Tiger, and Jackpot 6000 from NetEnt.

Lady Lucky Gun (BGaming)

The first slot I played at Betplay was Lady Lucky Gun from BGaming – literally released on the day I wrote the review, so you could say it was pretty new!
It’s a standard 5-reel fruit machine-style slot, with expanding wilds, respins, stacked symbols, and wins that pay both ways to add some depth. Oh, and there’s a rather lovely redhead lady in a black one-piece and stockings… with a very big revolver. She’s quite “bouncy” in the animations.

Lady Lucky Gun has a medium volatility rating, a max win of 1000x your bet, and a theoretical RTP of 96.13% – so technically speaking, it very much “middle of the road.” But, despite the relatively simple mechanics, it’s surprisingly engaging.
And as for my experience? Well, after betting 50 x 1 USDT bets, I’d won back 64 USDT – making for a very respectable real RTP of 128%. Not too shabby at all.
Lucky Lady Gun (BGaming)

Next up, I hit Devil’s Crossroad from NoLimit City. This was released in September 2024, but I must have missed it. Anyway, better late than never.
The gameplay takes place over a cavernous hole, rimmed with teeth, in the middle of an American crossroads – apparently on “Route 666.” The game layout is unique, with the reels forming a cross potent (the type of cross formed from 4 “Ts” stuck together at their bases). And, of course, the Devil himself is at the centre, right above the hole to Hell.
Anyway, as for features, it’s packing cascading reels, multipliers, respins, sticky symbols, and the Devil himself has a trick up his sleeve. The max win is a respectable 13,180x your bet, it’s rated as highly volatile, and the theoretical RTP is 96.06%.
So, how did I fare? Well, not great. After placing 50 x $1 bets, I only won back $36.60 – equating to an RTP of 73.2%. Still, at least I wasn’t dragged into the bowels of the underworld. That’s something.
Unfortunately, like so many crypto casinos, Betplay hasn’t bothered to provide crash games or instant win games categories or filters. Needless to say, unless you’re searching for a specific title, it makes finding games needlessly frustrating.
However, if you’ve got patience, you’ll find crash games are available, including Crash Royale from iMoon, Crash X from Turbo Games, and Crash from Galaxys. Likewise, instant wins, including digital scratchcards like the Scratch! series from Hacksaw Gaming are available.

The Betplay.io live casino offers hundreds of live blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps, and poker tables from Pragmatic Play Live, Evolution, 7Mojos Live, BETER Live, BetGames.TV, Live88, SA Gaming, and Winfinity.
However, despite the size of the live casino at Betplay, the selection of live game shows is extremely limited – just 6 options: Crazy Time, Dream Catcher, Deal or No Deal, Sweet Bonanza Candyland, Mega Roulette, and Mega Wheel.

Bet Play also runs a poker tournament schedule, offering guaranteed, freeroll, and satellite events. And they aren’t just for high rollers – for example, you can buy into the Texas Hold’em Daily for just $0.10 between Monday and Sunday at 5 pm (CET). Mind you, it’s only guaranteed to $5. On the other hand, for $50, you can buy into the Tennessee Hold’em Series Main Event with $2K guaranteed.

Surprisingly, Betplay.io is one of the comparatively few crypto casinos that offers an extensive choice of RNG (random number generator) based table games – complete with a dedicated category. Including first-person style games, there are over 200 to choose from.
At the time of writing this Betplay casino review, popular table games included Blackjack and Roulette X from Galaxys, Video Poker 3 in 1 and Baccarat from Mascot, and Boost Roulette and Bonus Poker from KA Gaming.

On the other hand, the bingo lineup at Betplay is disappointing to say the least. In fact, searching “bingo” delivered just 2 games: Bingo Star from Galaxys and Beto Bingo from Caleta Gaming. Unusually, the choice of keno was better, with 10 games.

Our real-money gameplay results
With a dedicated provably fair games category containing nearly 100 titles, Betplay crypto casino does pretty well on this front. The choice includes several Betplay Originals – nothing too exciting, just the usual Plinko, Mines, Wheel, Keno, Coinflip, Limbo, and Dice.
These are complemented by third-party games like Aviator, Plinko, and Goal from Spribe, Aero, Crash X, Ball & Ball from Turbo Games, and Cosmo Saga and Ninja Crash from Galaxys.

For today’s CoinBets Challenge, I decided to check out Betplay’s in-house provably fair version of Wheel.
For the challenge, I decided to play 25 x 1 USDT bets on Medium Risk with 30 wheel segments, and then see if I could beat the resulting RTP with 25 x 1 USDT bets on High Risk, again with 30 segments.
Quite a tall order, and to be honest, I expected it to play out like this: quite a few wins on the medium setting – maybe breaking even – followed by zero wins on the high risk setting. After all, I was only going to do 25 spins.

What actually happened was surprising.
The medium risk spins resulted in winning back just 21.19 USDT – giving an RTP of 87.6%. Not bad, but not exactly great either. However, with just 25 spins on the high-risk setting, I landed two wins, resulting in a total win of 59.4 USDT – a fantastic RTP of 237.6%.

Well, how about that? It just goes to show, sometimes taking those risks does pay off!
As for the game itself, there’s not much to explain here – it’s basically the same as every other own-brand, provably fair wheel game. Still, it’s easy to use and looks nice enough.
I verified a couple of results, and all seemed fine. To access the seeds and change them, click the scales symbol below the gameplay area. However, to verify results, you need to go to your bet history (within the game), and click on a result. Then you’ll see the link to the verification tool.

In common with all the best crypto casinos, Betplay.io also boasts a sportsbook. It offers standard and live sports betting on traditional favorites like soccer, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, Formula 1, and volleyball. There’s also a specialist racing section offering horse racing, harness racing, and greyhound racing.
Plus, you can bet on esports including Counter-Strike, Valorant, Dota 2, and League of Legends.

Rewards, rakeback, and VIP perks
Unusually, at the time of writing this Betplay review, there were no in-house standalone bonuses in the form of reloads or free spins. There were, however, provider-run tournaments including:
Summer Fortune – A Relax Gaming slots tournament with a $5,000 prize pool.
VoltEnt’s Lucky 7s – A network tourney with a €7 million prize pool.
Kash Drops – A Kalamba tournament with a €9 million prize pool.
Drops & Wins – The famous Pragmatic Play tournament with a €2 million prize pool.
Crash Royale – A weekly tournament from iMoon, featuring a $10,000 prize pool.
Blackjack Heat – a Pragmatic Play Live tournament featuring a €200,000 prize pool.

Betplay.io rewards players with Daily Rakeback and 10% Weekly Cashback from VIP Bronze I Level onwards. In total, there are 14 levels, with benefits improving as you level up.
| VIP Level | Benefits |
| Bronze I | Rakeback enabled, 10% Cashback enabled, Free spins reward |
| Bronze II | Free spins reward, Dogecoin cash drop reward |
| Bronze II | Free spins reward, Litecoin cash drop reward |
| Silver I | Increased rakeback, Free spins reward |
| Silver II | Free spins reward |
| Silver III | Free spins reward, Bitcoin cash drop reward |
| Gold I | Increased rakeback, Free spins reward |
| Gold II | Free spins reward |
| Gold III | Free spins reward, Dogecoin cash drop reward |
| Platinum I | Increased rakeback, free spins reward |
| Platinum II | Free spins reward |
| Platinum III | Free spins reward, Litecoin cash drop reward |
| Diamond | Increased rakeback, Free spins reward |
| Obsidian | Increased rakeback, Free spins reward |
As you can see, generally speaking, it looks like a pretty standard crypto casino VIP program. However, it is very light on the details – no information is provided regarding how much you need to wager to reach the different levels, or what you can expect in terms of free spins and crypto drops.
The more cynical among us could be forgiven for thinking Betplay just makes stuff up as they go along. Also note that the Betplay VIP program does not cover Betplay poker or Betplay sportsbook.

Quality and Speed

Navigation, layout, and performance
-
Gameplay and usability on mobile
Like most crypto casinos, Betplay provides 24/7 player support via live chat and email (support@betplay.io).
Additionally, there’s a fairly extensive FAQ section with answers to common questions and a news blog – though the latter is mostly focused on sports, it does feature a few casino game guides.

It is worth noting that, despite claiming to be “The Top Crypto Casino and Sportsbook on the Internet”, Betplay doesn’t appear to have any social media presence at all. You could be forgiven for thinking the operator of Betplay is hiding and doesn’t want to interact with players.
Visually, Betplay.io looks virtually identical to countless other crypto casinos. But everything seems to work, and navigation is logical enough.
However, terms and conditions, especially regarding loyalty rewards, are on the vague side, and the casino pays no attention to responsible gambling. There are no safer gambling tools whatsoever – in fact, there’s not even the usual token Responsible Gambling page linked from the footer. Literally, nothing.
To make Betplay more internationally accessible, in addition to English, the platform is available in:
Languages
There is a Betplay app available for Windows – you can download it from the website – but there are no apps for iOS or Android. However, there’s zero information provided about the app, so I wouldn’t recommend you download it. The Betplay.io web platform is optimized for mobile browsers though, so you can run it on smartphones.
Right, so what are people saying about Betplay crypto casino? Well, before we look at some ratings from popular review platforms, keep in mind that between the affiliate trash and fake reviews, accurately gauging a reputation is challenging to say the least!
| Platform | Overall Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|
![]() | 2.8 Average | (based on 392 reviews) |
![]() | Overall: 2.7/10 Safety Index: Very Low | |
![]() | Editor’s Rating: 4.4/5 | Player Rating: 8.2 (77 reviews) |
So, what should we make of this? Well, when even an affiliate marketing platform like Casino Guru is dissing a site, it should set off the alarm. And Trustpilot? Well, the sheer volume of extremely negative reviews and serious allegations is highly concerning. Furthermore, it looks like Betplay has engaged in the usual attempt at reputation laundering through fake reviews – but even that has been overwhelmed by the negatives. Not a good look.

Okay, so we’ve seen what Betplay offers in terms of product, but what’s my overall impression of this crypto casino?
Verdict
Okay, so we’ve seen what Betplay offers in terms of product, but what’s my overall impression of this crypto casino?
Well, in two words, not good.
While Betplay.io looks okay and offers a pretty good choice of slots and other casino games, it has some major issues. Some of these, like the email-only sign-up and lack of crypto-specific features, are just disappointing. However, others, like the complete lack of licensing and Costa Rica base, extortionate wagering requirements, vague/incomplete terms and conditions, highly questionable user agreement, and absolutely terrible user reviews, are far more concerning.
In a nutshell, I don’t see any reason to risk gambling your crypto at Betplay casino. It doesn’t offer anything special, and there are just too many red flags. However, if for some reason you do want to try it, I’d highly recommend keeping your balance low and making frequent withdrawals
But that’s just my opinion. What are your thoughts? Have you played at Betplay.io? If so, why not write a CoinBets review and share your thoughts with our awesome player community?
Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe, have fun, and may the RTP be good to you!
