Chips.gg Review

Read Expert Review

Making its entrance in 2020, Chips.gg is a mid-sized crypto casino and sportsbook that bills itself as “the future of cryptocurrency gambling.” It offers thousands of games, a full sportsbook, ongoing promotions, and a loyalty system, plus a handful of provably fair originals.

But despite the crypto talk, Chips supports just nine coins, doesn’t allow Web3 wallet sign-ins, and runs on a Belize–Anjouan license combo that’s anything but confidence-inspiring. So, does Chips.gg have real potential, or is it just another slick-looking crypto casino with shaky foundations? Read the full, unbiased CoinBets review to find out.

Ambitious branding, sloppy execution, can Chips really be the ‘future of crypto gambling’?

Launched in 2020, Chips is a mid-sized crypto casino and sportsbook. Previously licensed in Curacao, it now appears to be operating out of Belize and licensed in Anjouan. Though it offers thousands of slots and live casino games, other options, like crash and provably fair games, are limited – despite the casino making a lot of noise about the latter.

In this original Chips casino review, I’ll be examining the payment options, games catalog, bonuses, rewards, and overall user experience. And in true CoinBets style, I’ll be depositing and playing with real crypto funds to ensure an authentic player experience.

So, is Chips really “the future of cryptocurrency gambling” as it claims? Let’s find out.

Casino credentials and player protection

As always, before we get to the fun and games, let’s check out this casino’s credentials. And straight away things get messy.

At the time of writing, the casino was displaying a temporary Certificate of Operation issued by the Curacao Gaming Authority (application number OGL/2024/1264/1125) in the footer. According to this, Chips.gg is operated by Green Stream Technology B.V., which is incorporated in Curacao (company number 164141).

Opening a New Account

Sign-up speed and steps

Registering with Chips casino is straightforward, but you can only do it via email. There’s no option to register via third-party services like Google or Steam, and no option to connect Web3 wallets like MetaMask or Phantom.

Tap “Register”, choose a username, and set a strong password.

Confirm your date of birth, and enter a referral code if you have one.

Verify you are human, confirm you’ve read and agreed to the Terms of Service, and click “Register Account.”

No KYC is required to open an account with Chips casino, but you will be required to verify your identity at some point before withdrawing.

Players from many countries (including the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain) are prohibited from using Chips. Using a VPN to play from a restricted country may result in your account being closed and funds confiscated. Just something to keep in mind.

Payments

For a crypto-first casino, Chips supports a surprisingly limited range of cryptocurrencies.

To make a crypto deposit, navigate to “Cashier” (under your profile). Select the appropriate crypto and network, and you will be provided with deposit addresses in text and QR code format. The minimum deposit and any other important restrictions are stated.

In addition to your wallet, Chips also provides a “Safe” for longer-term asset storage. However, while this can be convenient, it’s always best to avoid leaving large amounts of crypto with any casino. It’s far safer to withdraw it to a non-custodial wallet.

To withdraw crypto, go to “Cashier” and select “Withdraw.” Choose the crypto and network (if applicable), enter the address of the wallet you want to withdraw to and state the amount you want to transfer. The estimated transaction fee will be displayed. If it all looks okay, click “Submit Withdrawal.” Note, you will need to turn on Two-Factor (2FA) Authentication to enable withdrawals.

CoinBets.com Tip: Always double-check crypto wallet addresses after pasting them – you don’t want to fall victim to ‘PasteJacking’. This is when hackers exploit the copy-paste function to change wallet addresses to steal funds.

Buying & Swapping Crypto

In common with all the best crypto casinos, Chips allows you to easily purchase cryptocurrencies via third-party integrations. At the time of writing, you could choose from Swapped.com and MoonPay.

Simply go to “Cashier”, select “Buy Crypto”, then choose a service and select a crypto, before tapping the green tab. You will then be provided with a quote, payment options, and fees. For example, Bank Transfer (0.5% fee), Rapid Transfer (2% fee), paysafecard (10% fee), and Neteller (3.5% fee). When you are happy, click “Continue” and follow the prompts to complete your purchase and deposit your crypto to your Chips wallet.

You can also swap cryptos for a small fee. You can find the Swap facility in your profile menu, underneath the Safe.

Slots

Game variety

As expected, slots form the bulk of the games catalog at Chips crypto casino – and the line-up looks pretty good. However, browsing is very frustrating due to a complete absence of filters. Sure, you can search for a title or browse by provider, but there’s no way to sort by feature, theme, RTP, volatility, or other attributes.

If you’re a fan of Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, and NoLimit City, you’re covered here with titles like Gates of Hades, Kill Em All, and Eternal Nile. There’s also plenty of slots from providers like BGaming, 3Oaks, Spinomenal, and Red Tiger, among others.

Megaways slots are available, but with searching bringing up just 25 games, the choice is limited. Specific titles on offer include The WishMaster Megaways and Wild Turkey Megaways from NetEnt, Big Bass Bonanza Megaways and Chilli Heat Megaways from Pragmatic, and NFT Megaways from Red Tiger. Likewise, searching for “jackpot” only turned up 25 slots.

CoinBets Experience

Gronk’s Gems (Hacksaw Gaming)

As any CoinBets regular will know, I’m quite fond of Hacksaw slots – the graphics, balanced gameplay, and fun themes. And given that Gronk’s Gems is one of the “most played” slots at Chips, I figured I’d give it a spin.

This slot is from Hacksaw’s Pocketz series, and features chargeable Multiplier Gems and Epic Gems, plus two different Bonus Games: Gronk’s Treasure and Gem Hoarder. The max win is 7,500 times your bet, volatility is rated medium, and the theoretical RTP is 96.24% – so pretty much average on that front.

However, despite its average stats, betting just 50 USDT, I managed to trigger a bonus game, which bumped my winnings up nicely. At the end, I made a modest profit of 6.40 USDT – equating to a real RTP of 112.8%. Pretty good, and lots of fun to boot!

Spirit of Adventure (Pragmatic Play)

When it comes to Pragmatic Play, I’m on the fence. On the one hand, their slots are always well-produced and engaging, but I rarely have any luck playing them. But, in this case, the Amelia Earhart-inspired Spirit of Adventure caught my eye (I’ve been reading about the latest search for her plane, so she must have been on my mind).

Anyways, regarding the game specs – it’s a 5×3 slot with 10 paylines and a 5,100x max win. In typical Pragmatic-style, it features sharp graphics and lots of animations, keeping things atmospheric and lively. However, this game is really all about the Free Spins feature – and wow, did that pay off for me!

Betting just 50 USDT in 1 USDT bets, I triggered free spins several times, and in the end, I walked away with 265.86 USDT – representing a real RTP of 531.72%. Now, I’d say that compares pretty well with the official theoretical RTP of 96.60%.

I think I’ll be coming back for some more adventure soon!

crash-instant-wins

Crash & Instant Wins

Fast gameplay

There’s no crash or instant wins category at Chips, and searching terms like “crash” and “plinko” turned up nothing besides a few Chips originals (more on those in a moment). So, while there are some crash games available – Avia Masters from BGaming, for example – you’ll need to search by name or provider to find them.

However, there are a bunch of scratch cards that are easy to find (thanks to having the word “scratch” in their titles) – mostly from Hacksaw Gaming, with a few from BGaming and Barbarabang to add some variety.

live-casino

Live Casino

Dealer quality

There are nearly 300 games in the Chips Live Casino section – however, this includes some miscategorized games (e.g., Vortex, Snake, and The Slalom from Marbles). Still, the lineup is pretty good, and thankfully, there are filters for Live Game Shows, Roulette, Blackjack, and Baccarat.

Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live dominate, with games like Fireball Roulette, Speed Blackjack, Video Poker Live, and Squeeze Baccarat. However, a few dozen live blackjack, roulette, and baccarat tables from Live88 add a little more variety.

Thanks to the presence of Evolution and Pragmatic, the live game shows lineup is solid at Chips. You’ll find all the most popular games, including Funky Time, Boom City, Treasure Island, Deal or No Deal, and Crazy Time.

table-games-poker

Table Games and Video Poker

Classic tables

When it comes to RNG (random number generator) based table games and video poker, the choice at Chips is essentially non-existent. There are, however, a few first-person table games from Evolution.

bingo-and-keno

Bingo

Casual games

Chips definitely isn’t the casino for bingo or keno fans. A search turned up just 3 video bingo titles – one each from Wazdan, Mascot Gaming, and Caleta Gaming. And as for keno? The only option appears to be the in-house original.

Which brings us to the Chips Originals. On the plus side, they are all provably fair, but on the downside, they are pretty much exactly what you’ll find everywhere else: Coinflip, Mines, Roulette Classic, Roulette Fortune, Roulette Double, Plinko, Limbo, Keno, Crash, and Dice.

CoinBets Challenge: Plinko vs Plinko

Our real-money gameplay results

Unsurprisingly, the Chips Originals lineup includes a provably fair Plinko game. In fact, at the time of writing this review, it was the casino’s most played game. So, it was the obvious choice for today’s CoinBets Challenge.

If I’m being totally honest, the game itself isn’t the greatest. There’s nothing wrong with it as such – it’s simple, works fine, and it’s easy to verify the fairness – but it’s just a bit dull. Maybe if they added some animated element – like a glow when the balls hit the pegs… anything would make it more exciting. But hey, it is what it is.

So, for the challenge, I decided to place 100 x 1 USDT bets on the highest risk setting with the most pockets (16), followed by 100 x 1 USDT bets on the lowest risk setting with the fewest pockets (8). Which one would give the best results?

Thankfully, Chips has included autoplay controls with their in-house Plinko – which makes life a lot easier if you’re playing a decent number of rounds. But, I hear you ask, how did it go? Did the in-house Plinko continue delivering positive returns, like the slots I’d already played?

Well, nope and nope.

The 100 high-risk bets resulted in an RTP (return to player) of 75.06%, while the 100 low-risk bets did better at 92.76%, but still landed me with an overall loss. Mind you, I verified a few rounds, and everything was above board – so I’ve got no complaints.

It just wasn’t my day for Plinko.

Promotional Offers

Current bonuses and real value

Although there’s no Chips casino welcome bonus, there are plenty of ongoing promotions giving you a chance to win cash, free spins, and other prizes. For example, at the time of writing this Chips casino review, the line-up featured:

$100,000 Chips Monthly Wager Race – All real money wagers on all games count.

$2,000 Chips Keno Wager Race – All players ranking in the Top 30 on the leaderboard get a cash prize.

$2,000 Chips Plinkp Points Race – All players ranking in the Top 30 on the leaderboard get a cash prize.

Network Promos – Chips casino participates in huge provider network promotions, like Pragmatic Play’s multi-million dollar Drops & Wins.

Challenges – Meet the stated objective for specific games and win a cash prize.

vip-club

Loyalty Program & VIP Club

Rewards, rakeback, and VIP perks

Known rather inventively as “Chips VIP”, this multi-tier loyalty program is nothing groundbreaking (despite the marketing blurb). It consists of 5 main tiers – Flipper, Collector, Stacker, Hoarder, and Tycoon – each of which is further divided into 5 sub-tiers, and multiple levels.

Apparently, you’ll get “site-wide perks with each major rank, level, and tier reached” plus prizes for levelling up. It seems specific information isn’t available until you reach the various levels. There’s no information readily available about how you level up either, so I presume it’s just based on wagering. A little bit vague, you might say.

Chips casino provides 24/7 player support via live chat – aiming to reply in under 3 minutes in most cases. You can also email support [at] chips [dot] gg, and there’s a fairly comprehensive FAQ section, with articles addressing the most common questions.

Chips also has a blog containing various articles and guides. Although when it contains articles like “Cracking the Code: How to Make Real Money from Gambling”, and “Earning Passive Income Through Chips – Is This a Joke?” alarm bells start to ring.

Additionally, you can follow and connect with Chips casino via Discord, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and Telegram.

User Experience & Website Design

Navigation, layout, and performance

In terms of design and user experience, Chips casino is pretty much standard stuff. Getting started is straightforward, deposits and withdrawals are simple, and everything is where you’d expect it to be. The site ran smoothly, and I didn’t find annoying dead links or runarounds. However, as mentioned earlier, browsing games is frustrating due to a lack of filters.

But I do have to congratulate the Chips team on one thing here: the responsible gambling tools. As in, there actually are some! A very rare thing at crypto casinos. Yep, just go to your profile, select “Settings” and you’ll see a “Responsible Gambling” section. Good grief!

In it, you can set the following:

  • Reality Check
  • Session Limit
  • Betting Cooldown
  • Wager Limit
  • Loss Limit
  • Self-Exclusion

They are simple and take just seconds to set up. This is how it should be done – empowering players to keep themselves safe, rather than just paying lip service to safer gambling on a page hidden down in the footer. Well done, Chips team!

Crypto Token and Tokenomics

So, Chips has this token called, funnily enough, “CHIP” – and it very much presents it as if it’s a crypto. So, you earn these tokens by wagering real money, then you can “lock” them in the Vault to unlock benefits, including a daily reward from the pools inside the Vault. It even refers to the CHIP tokens being “minted”.

All very cryptosish, right? Except it’s not. These aren’t crypto tokens – you can’t withdraw them or buy or sell them anywhere, no technical specs are provided, and they only appear to exist or have any notional value within the Chips casino.

Overall Reputation

As I’ve often explained, gauging a casino’s real reputation is extremely difficult in the age of sophisticated AI-generated fake reviews and shameless affiliate marketing content. But, if you’re curious, these are Chips ratings at a couple of popular casino review platforms:

Chips.gg claims to be crypto’s future, but poor filters, weak licensing, and missing Web3 tools leave trust and usability lacking

Stars – Bad
CoinbetS Expert Review

Verdict

Okay, so what’s the final verdict on Chips.gg? Well, this is a hard crypto casino to judge – it’s an odd mix of the very good and rather disappointing.

First up, it’s billing itself as the “future of cryptocurrency gambling” but doesn’t even support Web3 wallets, only supports 9 cryptos, and lacks any proper tokenization or crypto-specific features. Secondly, the games catalog is very poorly organized. The lack of useful categories and filters is a travesty and makes browsing a royal pain. Thirdly, the Chips blog contains questionable content (like “how to make real money from gambling”).

And, finally, this casino is now Anjouan licensed and operating from Belize – a combination that doesn’t inspire much trust.

However, Chips does stand out for doing some things right. During testing, only one slot crashed – pretty solid given how many I played. The casino has ditched the typical welcome bonus in favor of ongoing promos, and most impressively, it’s one of the very few crypto casinos with proper responsible gambling tools. That goes a long way in my books.

So, assuming you’re not from a prohibited jurisdiction (and don’t try to sneak in with a VPN), Chips may be worth trying. But as always, keep deposits modest, make frequent withdrawals, and don’t use the built-in safe – move funds to a non-custodial wallet ASAP.

But that’s just what I think. How about you? Have you played at Chips crypto casino? If so, why not write a CoinBets review and share your experiences with the player community.

Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe and good luck!

The Facts You Need

Crypto Casinos: The Truth Behind the Hype

Most crypto casino review platforms and guides are written by affiliates who earn up to 50% of your losses at the casino. They’re financially incentivized to push the casinos that pay them the most, not the ones that treat players fairly. That’s why you’ll rarely see them warn you about slow withdrawals, unfair terms, or dodgy licenses.

CoinBets is different. We don’t take casino money. We deposit and play with our own funds, then report exactly what we find, the good, the bad, and the scams.

Crypto casinos can be fun and convenient, but they’re not all created equal. Licensing quality, withdrawal speed, bonus terms, and game fairness vary wildly from site to site. Some operate under weak offshore regulators with zero player protection. Others bury restrictive terms that can void your winnings. And in the worst cases? Rigged games, frozen accounts, and unpaid withdrawals.

Our goal is simple: help you spot the red flags before you deposit. That’s why our database lists licensing details, RTP info, payment terms, and verified user reviews so you can make an informed decision, not a hopeful gamble.

But we can’t do it alone. We need players like you to help arm CoinBets with a vault of verified reviews. The more real, documented player experiences we have, the easier it is to hold dodgy crypto casinos accountable and warn others before they lose money. If you’ve played, share your story — together we can make the crypto gambling space safer for everyone.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • What makes a crypto casino trustworthy?

A legitimate license from a regulator with actual enforcement power, transparent terms, fast withdrawals, provably fair games, and a clean track record of paying players without drama.

  • Are unlicensed crypto casinos always scams?

Not always, but you’re gambling with zero safety net. If they refuse to pay you, there’s no regulator to step in. That’s why we flag licensing in every review.

  • What’s “provably fair” and why does it matter?

It’s a cryptographic system that lets you verify game results weren’t manipulated. In plain English: you can prove you weren’t cheated. Without it, you’re trusting the casino’s word.

  • Why are bonuses often a bad deal?

Because the fine print can make them nearly impossible to cash out, with wagering requirements, game restrictions, and withdrawal caps. Our database lists these terms so you can spot the traps.

  • How fast should a crypto casino pay out?

Top-tier sites pay within minutes to a few hours. If withdrawals drag on for days without clear reasons, that’s a red flag.

  • How does CoinBets stay unbiased?

We don’t take affiliate deals or casino funding. We play and test with our own crypto, track every interaction, and publish the results – even when casinos hate it.
