We Played Cloudbet With Real Crypto — Here’s What Actually Happened
Launched way back in 2013, just a few years after Bitcoin itself, Cloudbet is one of the world’s oldest crypto casinos and sportsbooks. Indeed, it bills itself as “The OG of crypto casino betting,” which sets the tone for the whole site. Think “Lambos” and “crypto bros.”
In this original CoinBets review, I’ll be testing Cloudbet online casino with real crypto, to see if it is still one of the best online gambling sites. I’ll examine the casino bonuses, games, payments, and all-around user experience. And, importantly, I’ll check out what other players are saying about it.

At the time of updating this review, the Cloudbet welcome package was advertised as being worth “up to $2,500 cash“. Sounds okay, right? Well, let’s take a closer look.
So, the Cloudbet welcome package spans a 30-day period from sign-up. During this time, you’ll get the following:
- 10% rakeback (30% credited directly to account, the remaining 70% added to rewards calendar)
- Daily Cash Drops from your Rewards Calendar (20% credited to account, 80% added to rewards calendar)
- On day 30 (or when you’ve claimed all your other rewards) unlock your loyalty tier and open your Cash Vault
The value of the Cash Vault is calculated based on your activity since joining, and can be worth up to $2,500. And, surprisingly, all rewards earned through the Cloudbet welcome package are free from wagering requirements.
At first glance, this seems like a pretty reasonable casino welcome offer. However, Cloudbet does not say how it calculates the value of the Cash Drops or the Cash Vault. Plus, the way that rakeback and Cash Drops are only partially directly credited, with the rest going to the Rewards Calendar (and hence subject to more conditions), is sneaky.

If you don’t have any crypto, you can purchase it easily thanks to a MoonPay integration. However, I’d recommend checking third-party crypto exchanges like Binance, CoinBase, and MEXC, because you’ll probably get a better deal.

At the time of compiling this Cloudbet casino review, there were over 3,300 games available from almost 100 game studios. Like all of the best online casinos, Cloudbet offers thousands of slot games – 3,086 to be precise (kudos to the Cloudbet team for including a running total for each category – it makes my life a lot easier!).
A particularly nice feature is the range of filters available, which include sorting by attributes including Feature Buy, Bonus Rounds, Trending, New, Hot, Cold, High Roller, High RTP, Auto Play, Studio, Volatility, and Theme. If you’ve read any of my reviews before, you’ll know how passionate I feel about well-organized categories and logical search features!
This makes it super easy to find a slot to play, even if you don’t have a specific one in mind. For example, searching for a “Wild West” themed slot with a high RTP takes you straight to Money Cart and Money Cart 2 from Relax Gaming. Or specifying a “Fruits” theme with bonus rounds serves up slots like Arctic Fruits from 1X2 Gaming, and Fruit Mania from Gamomat.
Of course, you can just search for a specific type of game, like Megaways. That delivers no less than 110 results, including NFT Megaways from Red Tiger and Max Megaways 2 from Big Time Gaming.
Curiously, there’s no “jackpot” attribute in the filters menu, but there is a “Jackpot Slots” category accessible from the main casino navigation menu. Duel at Dawn (Hacksaw Gaming)
I was in a bit of a Western mood today, reminiscing about my time growing up in the Arizona desert. So, when I saw Cloudbet promoting this new Hacksaw Gaming slot I had to try it. Though I soon wished I hadn’t.
Don’t get me wrong – it looks the part with atmospheric graphics and a catchy theme tune – plus it’s loaded with features. However, it is very volatile, and after spending about $50 my biggest win was just $8.
There were plenty of little $0.20 and $0.50 wins, complete with bullet sounds, but this is one of those slots that you need to play for a while. Because the big wins – potentially up to 15,000x your bet – are going to happen during the bonus rounds, which can be few and far between!
Perhaps the most interesting feature is the DuelReels. These enter the fray when a VS symbol lands, and involve expanding symbols and a duel between the Sheriff and the Outlaw. Depending on who wins, multipliers are added to the entire reel.
There’s also an Outlaw feature that expands across a whole reel and features a revolver that shoots various numbers of wilds onto the grid and triggers multipliers of up to 200x.
And then there are Wild Wild West free spins, triggered by landing 3 or more scatters. During these, there’s a higher chance of getting high-value multipliers on the DuelReels and Outlaw reels, plus an increased chance of landing VS and Outlaw symbols.
Finally, there are Dusk ‘Til Dawn free spins. These give you the chance to earn 4 DuelSpins with guaranteed VS symbols.
This is one of those slots for which I understand why people use the bonus buy option! In fact, Duel at Dawn offers a choice of five bonus buys:

Predictably, the lion’s share of live games are provided by Evolution and Pragmatic Play, but there are also live games from Playtech, On Air Entertainment, Ezugi, and Authentic Gaming.
Blackjack dominates the live dealer catalog, with many variants available including VIP Blackjack, Speed Blackjack, Free Bet Blackjack, and the exclusive Cloudbet Blackjack tables (provided by Evolution).

Game shows are hugely popular at crypto casinos, and nobody does them better than Evolution. So, when I saw Cloudbet was offering early access to a brand-new game, I just had to give it a whirl. And, well, it’s definitely crazy alright. It’s kind of like Evolution just put a bunch of other live games in a blender and poured this thing out. The action revolves around a bingo-style ball machine that throws out balls along a funky tube. Before each round, you get to place bets on 4 standard tickets and 4 bonus games – Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, and Crazy Time.
Is it good? Erm, I’m not sure. It’s definitely vibrant and fast, and does feature multipliers up to an impressive 20,000x – so I think I’ll be playing it again soon. If you like the original Crazy Time you’re going to love this.

At first, it looks like the video table games line-up at Cloudbet is disappointing, with just 43 games showing. However, look closer and you’ll realize that it’s because this category doesn’t include video roulette, blackjack, and baccarat games – which are only accessible via those specific categories.
Instead, the “Table Games” category contains video poker, sic bo, andar bahar, teen patti, and first-person game shows… but also, strangely, live anar bahar, live poker, and live hi-lo, etc.

Again, at first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking Cloudbet doesn’t offer any bingo or keno. If you search for “bingo” it returns no games. But, there is a dedicated category accessible via the main casino navigation.
In it, you’ll find a handful of games including First Person Lightning Lotto from Evolution, Rainforest Magic Bingo from Play’n GO, Calaca Bingo from Grupo MGA, and Dragon Power Keno from Atomic Slot Lab.

CoinBets Experience: Aviator (Spribe)
I’m a sucker for crash games, and my favorite of all time is Aviator from Spribe. I’m not entirely sure why – maybe it’s because the plane flies away, which is a bit more uplifting than something actually crashing.
Anyway, even though I didn’t win much, I still had a lot of fun. And, in fairness, I was playing it super safe – using the dual bet capability; cashing out the first one as soon as it covered the cost of both bets, and then banking on the second bet to make a profit.
As usual with Aviator, there were hundreds of active players, many making pretty substantial wagers – which always adds to the excitement. Overall, I think this is far more polished and entertaining than the generic own-brand crash games found at many crypto casinos.
CoinBets Experience: HiLo (Spribe)
A beautifully simple classic, Spribe’s version of HiLo is graphically extremely basic. But, that’s the entire point of HiLo – it strips everything down to an elegantly simple but extremely playable game.
After just a few minutes of playing, with small $2 bets, I was about $30 up, so I can’t complain on this one. I think it’s safe to trust both Spribe and Cloudbet, but there’s an added peace of mind of knowing you can check the fairness of this version of the classic card game.

Although this is primarily a crypto casino review, it’s worth noting that Cloudbet does offer a very comprehensive sportsbook. You can place both pre-match and live bets on a huge choice of traditional sports, ranging from basketball, soccer, tennis, and beach volleyball, to horse racing, motorsports, and golf. There are also interesting markets available for politics and entertainment betting.
In addition to traditional sports, Cloudbet has long been an enthusiastic esports supporter. Today, it offers betting on titles including Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, FIFA, NBA2K, Valorant, League of Legends, Rainbow Six, and Rocket League.
Surprisingly, one thing that does seem to be missing entirely at Cloudbet is virtual sports betting.

Other than the new player sign-up bonus, the only other special offers available at Cloudbet casino, at least at the time of writing, were a couple of network promotions.
Specifically, there was the almost obligatory Drops & Wins from Pragmatic Play, along with the Spinoleague Tournament from Spinomenal. The former had a €2m monthly prize pool, while the latter boasted a €10m prize pool. Both are worth checking out, but neither are really “Cloudbet promos” per se and are available at many other traditional and crypto online casinos.

Cloudbet proclaims that it offers the “most generous and innovative loyalty program anywhere.” Well, that’s quite the claim, so let’s have a look.
So, instead of deposit bonuses or free spins, Cloudbet has gone with the rakeback model. Fair enough.
This is how the rakeback loyalty program works:
- You place bets to earn Rakeback – which is calculated as a percentage of the house edge
- A portion of the rakeback is deposited straight to your wallet in your active currency, while the rest goes to your Rewards Calendar to claim later
- Rewards unlock from your calendar 3 times each day, from which point you have 12 hours to claim them
- Additional rewards are available to claim daily, weekly, and monthly (based on VIP tier status)
- When you claim a reward, you’ll also trigger TURBO mode, which will temporarily boost your casino rakeback to “much, much bigger percentages of the house edge” resulting in a “massive return on your play.”
Your rakeback rate, the boost you’ll receive from TURBO, and the value of other bonuses are dependent on your VIP tier.

Aesthetically, Cloudbet is clean and modern. Everything is well laid out and easy to find. But, it’s not exactly what you could call “inspired.” Let’s put it this way, if you couldn’t see the logo or URL, you could be forgiven for forgiven for getting Cloudbet confused with Gamdom, Stake, or many other mainstream crypto casinos.
When it comes to responsible gambling, Cloudbet has made some effort. It’s easy to set a cool-off period of between 24 hours and 3 months, or self-exclude from 1 year to permanently. However, you can’t set deposit, wager, loss, or session limits.

Other Interesting Facts
If the Cloudbet name seems familiar, but you don’t recognize the site, it’s probably because it went through an extensive rebrand in August 2024. According to the company’s Head of Brand and Content, and Head of Design, the new look “is our way of showing the world that under the hood, Cloudbet is hands down the fastest, most modern, most reliable gambling engine anywhere.” Erm. Okay, the new look is nice enough, but there’s no need to get that excited.
Another interesting thing Cloudbet did recently involved the US presidential election. In June 2024 there was a US debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, which saw the now president-elect arguing with the sitting president over their golf handicap. In response, Cloudbet offered a series of prop bets on a potential Trump vs. Biden golf game and pledged to donate $1m to charity if the showdown happened.
Unfortunately, the duel never went ahead. Which is probably just as well, because if it was played at Mar-a-Lago, I’m pretty sure Biden would have wandered off into an alligator-infested water hazard at some point.
Overall Reputation
Well, now we’ve looked at exactly what Cloudbet offers in terms of casino games, bonuses, payment options, and service, let’s see what other players think. But, before we dive into the statistics, as always, it’s important to keep the following in mind when dealing with casino reviews and ratings:
- Many casino affiliates lack objectivity. They will say pretty much anything to get you to sign up and deposit at an online casino so that they earn their commission.
- Some players are sore losers and will turn on a casino if they don’t win as often as they feel they should.

Cloudbet runs smooth and looks sharp, but the “5 BTC” bonus is pure bait. Weak promos, recycled offers, and clickbait marketing hold it back from being a top-tier crypto casino.
Verdict
So, is Cloudbet, the self-proclaimed “OG of crypto casino betting” the world’s best online crypto casino? Well, probably not.
But, it is definitely playing in the big league. It’s well-established and everything works. Signing up is easy and an impressive range of cryptos are supported – for example, it’s great to see privacy coins like Monero and Zcash accepted. In terms of games, the choice is good – even if does fall short of competitors like BC.Game in terms of sheer numbers.
However, a few things do let Cloudbet down. One of those is the lack of standalone promotions and tournaments – with things being pretty much limited to network promos. However, this is somewhat offset by the extensive Cloudbet loyalty program, which does offer plenty of tailored bonuses and rewards.
Perhaps the most disappointing thing about Cloudbet is the welcome bonus. It’s not that there isn’t one, or that you can’t get good value from it – it’s more the rather disingenuous way it is promoted. As I explained, the “5 BTC” is pretty much just clickbait.
Overall, as long as you make sure you fully understand the bonuses and promos before committing, Cloudbet could be a good choice.
