Skins, esports, and loot boxes — but can Howl.gg Casino be trusted?
Launched in 2018, Howl.gg initially built a reputation as a skin betting platform, but has since evolved into a more mainstream crypto casino and sportsbook. Today, it still very much markets itself to video gamers and esports fans, but also offers over 5,000 casino games plus sports betting.
In this original Howl casino review for CoinBets, I’ll be depositing and wagering real crypto to get an authentic player experience. I’ll also be paying particular attention to bonuses, VIP rewards, payment options, and reputation.
So, is it worth joining the Howl.gg pack, or are you likely to get bitten? Let’s find out.

Sign-up speed and steps
As always, let’s start with checking this crypto casino’s credentials:
Howl.gg is operated by Genius Touch B.V., which is incorporated in Curacao (company number 160903). At the time of writing, it was operating under a temporary Certificate of Operation issued by the Curacao Gaming Authority (application number OGL/2024/1638/1028).
The site connection is secure and the security certificate is valid
At the time of writing this Howl crypto casino review, the platform didn’t offer a specific welcome bonus.
Getting up and running with Howl.gg crypto casino is quick and easy, with multiple registration options:
Enter your email address, set a username, choose a strong password, confirm you’re at least 18 and have agreed to the Terms and Conditions, and tap “Register.”
Sign up with Google
Sign in with Steam
Register via Discord

Important: Residents of many countries, including the USA, Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Spain, are not permitted to use Howl.gg. Using a VPN to bypass blocks is also specifically prohibited. Remember, while signing up may be KYC-free, you’ll probably be asked to provide documents confirming your identity and address before you can withdraw. Don’t give the casino an excuse to close your account and confiscate your funds!

Payments
Howl casino supports a modest range of popular cryptocurrencies, plus other digital assets like CS2, Rust, and Dota 2 skins via Steam and Skinsback.
Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals:
To make a crypto deposit, navigate to “Wallet”, then select “Deposit.” Choose your crypto and network (if applicable). You will be provided with your unique Howl.gg deposit wallet address in the form of an alphanumeric string and QR code.

To withdraw crypto, go to “Wallet” and select “Withdraw.” Choose the crypto and network (if applicable), enter the address of the wallet you want to withdraw to, and enter the amount you wish to transfer. Finally, tap “Withdraw.”

CoinBets.com Tip: Always double-check crypto wallet addresses after pasting them – you don’t want to fall victim to ‘PasteJacking’. This is when hackers exploit the copy-paste function to change wallet addresses to steal funds.
Howl also supports fiat options, including Paysafe, PayPal, and Google Pay gift cards, and bank deposits via bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard, and Revolut.
Buying Crypto
In common with all the best crypto casinos, Howl.gg also lets you purchase crypto on-site via a third-party widget – in this case, powered by Swapped.com. Payment options include bank transfer, Rapid Transfer, paysafecard, and Neteller.

Crypto Vault
Like some other crypto casinos, Howl.gg also provides a vault for long-term storage. While this does allow you to earn interest (rate is 1% per month, paid out at 0.03% per day, non-compounding), I strongly recommend against storing large amounts of crypto on any casino platform. Use a non-custodial crypto wallet for long-term storage – always remember, “not your keys, not your crypto.”

Game Selection
In total, Howl casino offers around 5,000 games of all types, from just under 30 providers – not the biggest choice, but fair. The main casino lobby looks nice, but the categories are a mess, and filters are lacking.

Casual games
As you’d expect, slots make up the bulk of the game inventory at Howl.gg, with over 4,000 titles seemingly available. However, crash games, other instant wins, and even first-person game shows and table games are all included in the “Slots” section.
But, if you’ve got the patience to wade through the miscategorized games, you will find hit slots from providers like NoLimit City, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Play’n GO, and Push Gaming. At the time of making this Howl.gg review, the most popular slots included Gates of Olympus Super Scatter and Sweet Bonanza 1000 from Pragmatic, Wanted Dead or a Wild and Fist of Destruction from Hacksaw, and Retro Sweets from Push.
As for Megaways slots and jackpot slots, there are some available, but again, finding them is annoying due to a lack of filters. Some of the titles available include Wild Waves Megaways from One Touch, Divine Fortune Megaways from NetEnt, and Big Cat Rescue Megaways from Red Tiger.

The Wild Gang (Pragmatic Play)
To get the gameplay rolling, I decided to try one of the slots promoted as “Howly’s Top Picks” – specifically, The Wild Gang from Pragmatic Play. It’s yet another Wild West-themed slot, and benefits from Pragmatic’s typically slick graphics and animations. The reels feature Wilds, Scatters, and a Mystery Symbol, plus a Free Spins Bonus round.
Theoretically, the RTP for this slot is a pretty average 96.02% in the base game, and marginally higher at 96.04% when using free spins (which can, of course, be purchased too). However, after betting $50, I only managed to claw back $30.65, giving a real RTP of just 61.3%.
Mind you, The Wild Gang is rated as extremely volatile, and the maximum win is a nice 10,000x your bet, so it could be worth committing a significant bankroll if you can afford it – and if you’ve got the patience to power through the droughts. Overall, it’s a playable game, even if the theme has been done to death.
Galactic Grazers (Games Global)
And now for something completely different. Aliens abducting sheep for, erm, some unspecified reason – I’m sure it’s nothing dodgy… right? Well, whatever the reason for these ET’s fascination with our woolly friends, Galactic Grazers from Games Global (well, actually from partner Blue Ring Studios) is plenty of fun!
The retro toon style graphics are great, there are 4 jackpots up for grabs, and Link & Win respins. The max win is 5,250x your bet, and the theoretical RTP is 96.02% – again, very much average. But again, it’s highly volatile, and after betting $50, I only managed to win back $12.30… equating to a real RTP of just 24.6%.
Hey, has anyone else lost 3 hours?
As mentioned, crash games and other instant wins/casual games are lumped in with the slots at Howl. This makes browsing more than a little frustrating. Unless you’ve got the patience of a saint, you’re going to need to use the search function. Of course, this is only useful if you know the title or the name has “crash”, etc., in it.
For example, searching “crash” brings up just 13 games, including Crash Crash from Caleta Gaming, Dragon’s Crash from BGaming, and Balloon Odyssey Crash from Kalamba Games. Likewise, scratch cards from Hacksaw and Caleta are available, but you’ll need to search for them.

Boasting just over 200 games, the Howl.gg live casino is a little on the small side, but should be enough for most players. There are no surprises here – just the usual selection of live blackjack, live roulette, live baccarat, live poker, and live game shows from Pragmatic Play Live and Evolution, with the line-up split fairly evenly between them.
Note that all live game shows, like Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, and Sweet Bonanza Candyland, are listed under “Live Games”. There is a “Game Shows” section, but this contains only first-person and RNG-based titles.

Given the lack of filters and categories, you won’t be surprised to learn that finding RNG (random number generator) based table games and video poker is frustrating at Howl casino. The casino team has just dumped them all in with slots, so you’ll need to use the search facility.
However, with patience, you can locate various roulette, blackjack, baccarat, craps, and poker games – virtually all of which seem to be from Microgaming.

Of course, you’ll need to search for video bingo and keno games here too. However, the choice is decent, with around 24 bingo and 14 keno titles from Microgaming, Caleta Gaming, and Play’n GO.

Our real-money gameplay results
Howl makes a big deal about being a provably fair casino, and boasts 5 in-house original provably fair games: Jackpot, Coinflip, HiLo, Dice, Blackjack, and The Wheel. Checking results of in-house games is straightforward here thanks to a built-in and relatively easy-to-use verification tool.

Unfortunately, you won’t find any third-party provably fair games here from providers like Spribe or Turbo Games. If you’d like to learn more about provably fair gaming, be sure to read the CoinBets Introduction to Provably Fair Gaming.

If you’re a CoinBets regular, you’ll know that whenever possible, I like to put one of the in-house games to the test in a CoinBets Challenge. And at Howl, I chose The Wheel.
Now, at first glance, this provably fair “Wheel of Fortune” type game looks great. Compared to similar games at most crypto casinos, the graphics and sound effects are more polished, and the user interface feels more tactile. Great stuff! So, I planned to place 50 x $1 bets on number 3 – which delivers a 4x multiplier.
However, 25 bets in, I called it a day. Why? Because, oh my goodness, this game is slow. The real test here was of my patience. I think it took about half an hour to place the 25 bets! And, no matter how nice the graphics are, it’s still a fairly basic game.
Mind you, it actually worked out okay. I managed to turn the $25 into $32 – giving an RTP of 128% – not bad at all. If I tried it again, I might be tempted to place considerably higher bets. However, I’d also make sure I’d got a movie or something to watch while I was playing!

Howl.gg also offers sports betting on traditional sports like soccer, basketball, MMA, boxing, and tennis. However, the platform is clearly focused on esports betting – for example, offering bonuses for depositing with CS2 skins. Esports disciplines supported include Counter-Strike, FIFA, League of Legends, VALORANT, Dota2, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six.

Rewards, rakeback, and VIP perks
Unusually for a crypto casino, Howl wasn’t running any standalone promotions – like tournaments, deposit bonuses, or free spins giveaways – at the time of writing. However, it was offering rank conversion from other casino platforms, and there is a “Rain” feature that gives on-site chat participants (who meet certain requirements), to earn coins every 30 minutes.
The loyalty/VIP program at Howl casino is known as “Howly’s Rewards” – original. It’s a standard run-of-the-mill multi-tier affair, with 6 main tiers and 26 sub-levels. Rewards consist of free daily cases, instant rakeback, and other VIP perks. You level up by earning XP, which is based on your overall wagering.
And yes, Howl.gg is one of those crypto casinos that claims it’s ready to give a Lamborghini to any VIP player who makes it to the top… actually, this place goes a step further and says it’s willing to give quite literally “anything” to you if you make it to the ultimate tier.
Righty. Sounds totally legit.

Gameplay and usability on mobile
Like most crypto casinos, Howl.gg offers 24/7 support via live chat. Alternatively, you can contact the Howl support team via email at CS [at] howl [dot] gg
There’s also a pretty comprehensive FAQ section, with articles covering everything from wagering and bugs to regional restrictions and provable fairness. A Howl.gg casino blog is also published – ostensibly with “useful” articles and guides, but in reality, this is primarily intended for SEO (search engine optimization) purposes.

You can also connect with Howl casino on social media platforms, including X (Twitter), Discord, and Steam. The Discord community, in particular, seems quite engaged, with nearly 140K members and over 14K online at the time of writing.

In terms of design, Howl.gg looks like plenty of other crypto casinos, and most things are where you’d expect them to be. But then that’s probably because it’s built on a white label “off-the-shelf” platform used by hundreds of other casinos. However, there’s nothing unique or special going on here – and as already pointed out, browsing games is subpar due to a chronic lack of filters and miscategorized games.
I would also note that creating this review took much longer than normal because the site was difficult to access at times, with frequent lags and server errors. Even trying from a different location using a VPN made no difference. Maybe it was just a bad day, but it doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

Equally predictable as its design is Howl casino’s complete disregard for responsible gambling. Apart from the standard responsible gambling blurb accessed from the footer, the only safer gambling tool is the option to self-exclude for 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years, accessible from your profile. That’s it. No deposit, wagering, or loss limits. Nothing.
In addition to English Howl.gg crypto casino is also available in:

There doesn’t appear to be a dedicated Howl.gg mobile app for Android or iOS devices. However, the web platform is optimized for mobile browsers, so it is still suitable for smartphones.
So, what do players think about Howl.gg crypto casino? Well, in truth, it’s almost impossible to tell. With so many fake reviews and so much affiliate-generated content, getting a clear picture is tough – heck, that’s why we set up CoinBets. But, out of curiosity, here are some ratings from popular review sites:
| Platform | Overall Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|

![]() | Overall: 9.3/10 | Safety Index: Very High |

And the Casino Guru review? Well, they have financial incentives to promote Howl, so of course, they’re going to say it’s great!

Howl.gg
Howl.gg offers decent games and banking, but lag, weak safeguards, unlicensed status, and Trustpilot complaints make it risky.
Verdict
Righty, so what’s my overall impression of Howl.gg crypto casino? Well, to be honest, not great.
On the plus side, Howl does have a decent games line-up, and does have a varied range of banking options – covering crypto, skins, and fiat currencies. And, the loyalty/VIP scheme is interesting, with some nice touches like the daily boxes.
However, there are a bunch of problems. Browsing games is frustrating due to a lack of filters and miscategorized games. The platform itself often proved unreliable and laggy. There are no real crypto or Web3-specific features – indeed, even the number of cryptos supported is very modest. And, on a more serious note, there’s a complete disregard for responsible gambling.
Oh, and let’s not forget, at the time of writing at least, Howl.gg was technically unlicensed. Yes, it was operating under a temporary certificate of operation, but that isn’t a proper license. And then, there are the horror story rumours and negative reviews on Trustpilot and Reddit – all of which are, of course, impossible to verify, but still concerning.
You’ve also got to keep in mind that most of Howl casino’s organic traffic comes from the United States (according to Ahrefs), and the casino has been promoted by US-based streamers. Yet, US players are specifically prohibited from joining – and if they do, can have their accounts closed and funds seized. In fact, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a trap. Just saying.
But that’s just what I think. How about you? Have you played at Howl casino? If so, why not write a CoinBets review and share your thoughts with the player community?
Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe and have fun!
