Flashy casino or just another LuckyBlock rerun in disguise?

Launched in 2024, BlockBet is the latest crypto casino from the same team that brought the world LuckyBlock. It offers thousands of slots, crash, provably fair, table, and live dealer games, plus sports and esports betting. Perhaps most intriguing, BlockBet’s native crypto token is Blockasset (BLOCK) – a Solana-based “athlete social token” claimed to be backed by major sports stars.

In this original CoinBets review, I’ll be taking a deep dive to see exactly what BlockBet casino offers. I’ll be checking out the welcome bonus, payment options, games, VIP rewards, features, and of course, figuring out what’s going on with the token.

So, is BlockBet and its Blockasset token really the next big thing in Web3 gambling, or is it all a load of empty hype? Let’s find out.

License and Security

Okay, so before we get to the fun and games, let’s check out BlockBet’s credentials.

image description

BlockBets is owned and operated by Igloo Ventures SRL., which is registered in Costa Rica (company number 3-102-880024). It is licensed by the Anjouan Offshore Financial Authority (license number ALSI-142311005-FI2).

The site connection is secure and the security certificate is valid

Welcome Bonus

At the time of writing this Blockbet review, the casino was offering a welcome bonus of up to 500 free spins.

Specifically, you’ll get 100 free spins on Bigger Bass Splash by Pragmatic Play for depositing and wagering $20. This can be done daily over 5 days – allowing you to get 500 free spins for a total deposit of $100. You don’t need to deposit every day to get the full amount – as long as you deposit and wager the required amount 5 times within 7 days, you’ll still get the full 500 spins.

So, what are the catches?

Free spins are valid for 7 days only

Winnings are subject to a 10x wagering requirement (on slots only)

Welcome offer must be claimed within 7 days of signing up

Cash funds are used before bonus funds

Okay, that sounds reasonable – definitely more realistic than the “get 100% up to 1 BTC” type welcome offers that are all too common.

Opening a New Account

Getting up and running at BlockBet is quick and easy, with no KYC required on sign-up. There are several options:

Enter your email address and set a strong password. Enter your date of birth, select your country, enter a promo code (optional), then check the boxes to agree to the terms and set your marketing preferences. Finally, click “Sign Up & Play.”

Join via Telegram

Connect your Web3 wallet via WalletConnect (440 wallets supported, including Phantom, Metamask, Trust Wallet, Bitget Wallet, OKX Wallet, and Binance Wallet)

Important: Residents of many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, France, the Netherlands, and Spain, are prohibited from using BlockBet. You may be required to verify your address with official documentation before you can withdraw.

Payments

BlockBet casino supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies for deposits and withdrawals.

Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals:

To make a crypto deposit, tap the bright green “Wallet” tab, select the crypto you’d like to deposit (and the network if applicable), and you’ll be provided with a unique deposit address in text and QR code formats. You’ll also be provided with information like the minimum deposit, USD exchange rate, and average processing time. Alternatively, you can deposit via a linked Web3 crypto wallet.

To withdraw crypto, go to “Wallet” and select “Withdraw.” Choose the crypto you’d like to transfer (and the network if applicable). Your available balance will be visible. Enter the amount you would like to withdraw, and tap “Request Withdraw.” Note that all withdrawals are subject to a fee.

CoinBets.com Tip: Always double-check crypto wallet addresses after pasting them – you don’t want to fall victim to ‘PasteJacking’. This is when hackers exploit the copy-paste function to change wallet addresses to steal funds.

Buying Crypto

If you’re all out of crypto, no worries – BlockBet allows you to buy some with your Visa or Mastercard debit card via a Changelly widget. Simply go to your wallet, click “Debit Card to Crypto”, then choose the crypto you’d like to purchase. Enter the amounts, agree with the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and tap “Buy Instantly.” Then follow the prompts to complete the transaction.

Game Selection

In total, Blockbet offers roughly 8,000 casino games of all types, from around 40 providers. The game lobby is logically organized with the following categories: New Games, BlockBet Originals, Slots, Crash Games, Table Games, Live Casino, Arcade, and Drops & Wins. There are some further categories available, like New, Megaways, Bonus Buy, and Trending. However, you can only access them from the Slots Lobby, instead of convenient pull-down filters, which is quite annoying.

Note: BlockBet has a daily win limit of $/€100,000, regardless of which games you play.

Slots

As expected, the vast majority of games at BlockBet casino are slots. When writing this BlockBet review, trending slots included Amelia’s Mugs and Jugs from Games Global, Spinnin’ Records Into the Beat by Play’n GO, Raging Waterfall Megaways by Pragmatic Play, and The Library from Hacksaw.

Something I noticed is that BlockBet crypto casino seems to be heavily pushing Pragmatic Play slots. For example, the “BlockBet Specials” category included games like Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, Sweet Bonanza 1000, Sugar Rush 1000, and 6 Jokers.

CoinBets Experience

Amelia’s Mugs and Jugs (Games Global)

For some absolutely unfathomable reason, Amelia’s Mugs and Jugs was trending at BlockBet. And, as I hadn’t played a Games Global slot for a while, I figured I’d check out what she’s got. It was a good move.

An upbeat cartoon-style slot set in a Bavarian village, this slot features three jackpots (10x, 50x, and 20,000x), plus Link & Win and Express Collect mechanics. There’s also an optional paid boost that increases the number of high-paying symbols and the chances of a bonus game – but it adds 50% to your bet cost, so I passed.

Even so, at times Amelia’s jugs were positively overflowing, and after betting 100 USDT, I walked away with a nice little $9.40 profit. So, that’s a real 109.40% RTP, compared to a theoretical RTP of 96.37% – not too shabby at all.

The Library (Hacksaw Gaming)

As any CoinBets regular will know, Hacksaw is one of my favorite providers, so when I saw The Library in the trending list, I had to give it a spin. Unfortunately, for me at least, this slot missed the mark. It turns out its from one of Hacksaw’s partners – Kitsune Studios – and it shows. The graphics and gameplay just lack atmosphere and feel quite empty.

Still, this 5×4 slot does have up to 3.2 million betways, free spins, a book mechanic, buy bonus option, multipliers, and scatters – and a chance to win up to 10,000x your bet. So it’s not all bad. However, despite a theoretical RTP of 96.34%, after betting $100, I’d only managed a real return to player rate of 45.9%.

I think “disappointing” is the word that best sums up The Library.

Crash & Instant Wins

It’s always nice to see a crypto casino give crash games their own category – too many just lump them in with slots. Anyway, BlockBet boasts an impressive 30+ crash games, including the omnipresent Aviator from Spribe, F777 Fighter from OnlyPlay, Air Boss from Platipus, and Jet X from SmartSoft.

Other instant wins and mini-games can be found in the “Arcade” category. Again, there are over 30 titles, including provably fair games like Goal and Plinko from Spribe, and several scratch cards. However, I did notice that many were “unavailable”.

Live Casino

Thanks to the lack of Evolution or Pragmatic Play Live games, the BlockBet live casino is fairly limited. At the time of reviewing, live dealer games were provided bet Winfinity, BetGames TV, and Bombay Live. Still, there’s a decent variety of live blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and poker on offer.

The choice of live game shows is also disappointing, with just 8 titles. Thankfully, there are a couple of Pragmatic Play hits in the form of Sweet Bonanza Candyland and Mega Wheel, but it’s still very limited.

ico-cards-card-game-poker

Table Games and Video Poker

With 41 games and a dedicated category, the RNG-based table games lineup at BlockBet is actually quite impressive. You’ll find variants of roulette, blackjack, and dice games from Evoplay, BetSoft, Wazdan, and others. Plus, there’s a decent choice of video poker, including Caribbean Beach Poker, Turbo Poker, Oasis Poker, and American Poker.

ico-grid-3x3-gap-fill

Bingo

I was also quite impressed with the choice of video bingo at BlockBet. There’s no category, but running a search brings up more than 50 titles. These include Samba Rio, Bingo Tornado, and Bingo Royale. Likewise, the keno selection is good, with nearly 20 games, including the provably fair keno from Spribe.

ico-shield-tick

Provably Fair Games

Along with the provably fair games in the Crash and Arcade categories, there are also 10 provably fair BlockBet Originals: Plinko, Dice, Mines, Hi-Lo, Keno, Wheel, Video Poker, Limbo, Dragon’s Tower, and Diamonds. Granted, it’s not the biggest range, and I’m doubtful they are actually as “original” as they are made out to be (I’ve got a feeling I’ve played them before at a sister site). But, still, they add variety.

If you’d like to learn more about provably fair gaming, be sure to read the CoinBets Introduction to Provably Fair Gaming.

CoinBets Challenge: Things Get Dicey

For today’s CoinBets Challenge, I decided to go with one of the provably fair BlockBet Originals. Specifically, Mines. It feels appropriate for life right now.

Although I was hoping to bet a hundred bucks, playing The Library had left a serious dent in my bankroll, so I settled on placing 50 x 1 USDT bets. Now, the last time I did a Mines challenge, I got cocky and went with high risk settings – which, quite predictably led to disaster. So, this time, I erred on the side of caution, and set 10 mines out of a possible 24, and decided to go for 5 tiles before cashing out. That would give a win of 16.63 on each successful bet. You can see the potential there.

So I braced myself and ventured out into the minefield…

And, things got off to a great start! Within the first 5 rounds, I’d won twice, bringing in $33.26 – if I could keep up that rate of winning, I was looking at over $300 in winnings.

But then my luck ran out, and over the next 45 rounds, I only managed to cashout a single $16.63 win. So, in the end, I’d bet $50 and won back $48.90, giving a real RTP of 97.8%. Overall, not too bad, and it was fun. Plus, it’s nice being able to verify the game results.

As far as mine-type games go, this is decent – simple but fun, with some useful autoplay options.

Sportsbook

In common with most of today’s crypto gambling platforms, Blockbet also has a sportsbook. This offers traditional and live betting on traditional sports like soccer, horse racing, boxing, tennis, and MMA, plus virtual sports and esports betting. Esports titles supported include Counter-Strike, FIFA, League of Legends, and Dota 2.

ico-promotion-white

Promotions

In addition to the BlockBet welcome bonus, several other casino promos were running at the time of writing this review. These included:

Pick 6 – BlockBet’s first Free to Play game. Predict scores and earn points to win cash prizes and free spins.

20% Cashback for %BLOCK bets – Earn cashback when you use the native BLOCK token to wager at both the casino and sportsbook.

Slots Tournaments – Daily wager races to win cash and free spins.

Daily Prize Wheel – Spin the wheel each day to win points or free spins.

Jackpot Wheel – It costs 5,000 points to spin the wheel and win up to $2,500 cash.

Loyalty Program & VIP Club

Billed as “the most rewarding loyalty program in Web3”, All Star Rewards is Blockbet’s loyalty and VIP program. But despite the big talk, it’s just a standard multi-tier rewards program. You’ll earn 5 XP for every $/€1 staked on sports betting, 4 XP for every $/€1 staked on slots, and 1 XP for every $/€1 staked on other games.

You can also earn XP and cash for completing the various missions that can be found under your profile. These include things like wagering $100 on slots or wagering $50 on any sport. Oh, and you’ll also earn BlockBet’s in-game currency, All Star Cash (ASC), which you can use to buy prize wheel spins and buy into tournaments.

The more XP you earn, the larger the share of BlockBet’s planned $1,000,000 airdrop (BTC, ETH, SOL, and BLOCK) you’ll secure, too. At the time of writing, Season One was just about to start.

Crypto Token and Tokenomics

As previously mentioned, Blockbet has a native crypto token called Blockasset (BLOCK). Right, so it’s based on Solana, and at the time of writing, in late May 2025, the total supply of BLOCK was 320,000,000, of which 2.2% had been burnt, 3.8% formed liquidity, and 94% was circulating.

And here’s where things get, well, strange.

You see, according to CoinGecko, Blockasset is a “Athlete Social Token platform” and has “a number of world-famous athletes on board, including sporting Legends Wayne Rooney, Michael Bisping and Alex Ovechkin all of whom are partners & investors, and superstars like Khamzat Chimaev of the UFC and Heavyweight Boxing Champion Oleksandr Usyk, plus over 30 more athletes that are yet to be announced.”

Even the UFC announced a partnership with Blockasset in June 2024.

But why is a crypto casino using “athlete social tokens?” Could it just be a smokescreen to disguise a gambling token, making it easier to seal partnership deals?

Well, for the sake of everyone’s sanity, it’s probably best not to go down this rabbit hole.

I’m just going to leave this here:

Igloo Ventures owns and operates BlockBet, which promotes the Blockasset (BLOCK) token – which apparently has lots of high-profile celeb/sportspeople investors. Igloo Ventures also owns and operates LuckyBlock, which promotes the LBLOCK token – which also, apparently, had lots of high-profile celeb/sports investors. LuckBlock’s founder is connected to Finixio – one of the most notorious iGaming and affiliate marketing companies, which has been caught using fake celeb endorsements to market illegal products. Finixio is connected to ClickOut Media, which is another questionable iGaming affiliate company known for being involved in shilling dodgy crypto projects.

You can read more about this in our in-depth LuckyBlock review, but you get the picture.

If you do want to find out more about Blockasset, you can att www.blockasset.co – but it’s probably a good idea to retain a healthy dose of skepticism.

User Experience & Website Design

How can I describe BlockBet’s user experience and design? Well, think LuckyBlock with a different colour scheme and logo. And given that the same company is behind them, it’s hardly surprising they are very similar. But, to be fair, it’s easy enough to join, navigate, and use.

Unfortunately, the similarities with its sister site extend to the complete lack of responsible gambling tools. Sure, there’s a page with the usual blurb, but no useful safer gambling tools like wager, loss, and time limits.

In addition to English, BlockBet is also available in:

Mobile apps

There are no dedicated BlockBet mobile apps for Android or iOS devices. However, the web platform has been optimized for mobile browsers, so it’s still usable on smartphones.

ico-reputation-solid-white

Overall Reputation

Because it only launched in 2024, it’s hard to gauge BlockBet’s reputation. However, here are some ratings at popular casino review sites:

PlatformOverall RatingNotes
4.5 Excellent(based on 138 reviews)
Overall: 5.7/10Safety Index: Below Average
Overall: 4.5/5

As always, it’s important to be aware that Trustpilot is suffering badly from reputation laundering via increasingly sophisticated fake reviews (thanks, AI).

It’s also important not to read too much into Blockasset’s deals with the likes of the UFC and top athletes. Igloo Ventures, the owner and operator of BlockBet has some highly questionable associations, and we’ve seen companies use high-profile sponsorships to legitimize dodgy operations before – remember FTX

Blockbet.gg

BlockBet looks slick with games and crypto support, but LuckyBlock ties, weak licensing, and risky operations make it untrustworthy.

Verdict

BlockBet, BlockBet, BlockBet… what can I say? You’re flashy, have lots of games and features, and on the surface, you look like a pretty good crypto casino. Even the welcome offer seems reasonable, and the terms and conditions are easy enough to find.

But there’s an elephant in the room: the association with Igloo Ventures and, by extension, the team behind LuckyBlockwith its bungled token and questionable marketing strategies. I mean, what the heck is an athlete social token projectdoing being pushed by a crypto casino?

So, while BlockBet may have some things going for it – it’s got great crypto support and some fun little features – I’d urge caution if you sign up. Remember the company is based in Costa Rica and the casino is licensed in Anjouan – so if something goes wrong, you’re essentially on your own. And remember, if you use a VPN to bypass country restrictions, you’re giving the casino an excuse to close your account and seize your funds.

But that’s just what I think. How about you? Have you played at BlockBet? If so, why not write a CoinBets review and share your thoughts with the player community?

Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe and have fun!
