We Played Cloudbet With Real Crypto — Here’s What Actually Happened
Launched way back in 2013, just a few years after Bitcoin itself, Cloudbet is one of the world’s most established crypto casinos and sportsbooks. Today, it offers an extensive range of casino games and sports betting options and counts its customers in the millions.
In this original CoinBets review, I’ll be road-testing the Cloudbet online casino with real crypto, to see if it is still one of the best online gambling sites. I’ll examine the casino bonuses, games, payments, and all-around user experience – and importantly, I will check out what other players are saying about the site.
License and Security
As always, before I do anything else, I want to establish that Cloudbet has legitimate credentials and is a safe place to be.
Cloudbet is owned and operated by Halcyon Super Holdings B.V, a company incorporated in the Dutch Caribbean territory of Curaçao. At the time of writing this review (Nov. 2024), the site was operating under a temporary Certificate of Operation issued by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB). This allowed the company to continue offering its gambling product while its new license application was pending (OGL/2024/328/0599).
The site connection is secure and the security certificate is valid
Welcome
Cloudbet bills itself as “The OG of crypto casino betting,” which sets the tone for the whole site. Think “Lambos” and “crypto bros.” Given this, the ridiculous Cloudbet Welcome Bonus of up to 5 BTC isn’t surprising. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s no doubt about it, it’s a potentially huge bonus (BTC had just reached $99K at the time of writing), but it is silly. Read on, and I’ll explain why.Bonus

Things Get Complicated
While most online casinos will attach wagering requirements to deposit bonuses or free spins winnings, it is usually pretty straightforward. For example, you get a $1,000 bonus and it’s subject to 30x wagering, meaning you’ve got to play through $30,000 of your own funds before you can cash out any winnings resulting from the bonus.
But, here at Cloudbet, the bonus is released in increments based on the “Welcome Bonus Points” you earn. To make it easy(ish) to follow, I’ll use BTC as an example:
- You deposit 1 BTC, and it is immediately matched 100% with a bonus worth 1 BTC
- The bonus is placed in your account, but not all of it is immediately accessible
- You need to start playing crypto games to fully release the bonus
- Specifically, the bonus is released in increments of 0.001 BTC for every 150 Welcome Bonus Points you earn
So far so good, right? Well, the thing is you earn Welcome Bonus Points according to the following formula: Welcome Bonus Points = Converted Stake x 0.008 x (100-RTP). So, let’s say you bet $10 worth on a slot with an RTP of 97%, then the equation becomes 10 x 0.008 x (100-97) = 0.24 Welcome Bonus Points. So, that’s just 0.024 Welcome Bonus Points earned for each dollar’s worth wagered.
This means you’ll have to make $6,250 worth of wagers to earn the 150 Welcome Bonus Points needed to release a 0.001 BTC increment – which, at the time of writing, was worth around $99. That’s the equivalent of a 63x wagering requirement.
Also, you should note that in common with most online casino bonuses, game weighting applies, so you will only earn points at the maximum rate when playing slots. Other games, like blackjack and roulette, will earn at a lower rate. Finally, you only have 60 days to earn all of the bonus points you need to release the entire Welcome Bonus (potentially up to 5 BTC).
Now, Cloudbet isn’t alone here – this kind of bonus formula is increasingly common at crypto casinos. But, as you can see, the idea of ever getting a 5 BTC bonus released is verging on the absurd. To illustrate how daft the 5 BTC welcome bonus really is, consider this: 5 BTC worth of bonus would need to be released in 5,000 increments. Each of those increments would, at the time of writing, cost $6,250. That equates to $31,250,000. Yes, you read that right – over $31 million dollars worth. All within 60 days. And, needless to say, fluctuations in Bitcoin price could dramatically change this figure.
The point is that while the 5 BTC bonus is technically possible, it’s practically impossible. In fact, getting even a fraction of this bonus is going to be impossible for the vast majority of players. Personally, I wish crypto casinos would stop these ridiculous clickbait welcome bonus deposit match offers, and take a leaf out of sites like Gamdom, which have dispensed with them completely.
Registering a New Account
Righty, moving on, opening an account with Cloudbet is extremely quick and easy. There are no frustrating KYC hoops to jump through like at UKGC or MGA-licensed sites. There are several sign-up and log in options:
Click ‘Join’,
enter your email, set a strong password, confirm you are over 18 and have read the Terms & Conditions, and click ‘Join Now’
Log in using your Google account

Payments
Cloudbet supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies for deposits and withdrawals, ranging from Bitcoin and Ethereum to privacy coins like Monero and Zcash. Fiat transactions in US dollars and Japanese yen are also available via services including Jetonbank and Vega Wallet.
Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals:

Making crypto deposits is super quick and easy at Cloudbet. Simply select “Deposit” in the top right of the screen, then click “Crypto” and select your desired currency and networks from the dropdown lists. You will be provided with your unique crypto deposit address via both an alphanumeric string and a QR code.

CoinBets.com Tip: Always double-check crypto wallet addresses after pasting them – you don’t want to fall victim to ‘PasteJacking’. This is when hackers exploit the copy-paste function to change wallet addresses to steal funds.
If you’d prefer to deposit using cash, just select “Cash”, enter your deposit amount, and select a payment service (e.g. Jetonbank or Vega). Then click “Deposit” and follow the prompts.

Withdrawing crypto or fiat cash is just as easy. Simply go to your wallet, click “Withdraw”, then select “Crypto” or “Cash”, and enter the appropriate details. When providing your withdrawal crypto wallet address be sure to double-check that you are using the correct chain. The amount of crypto you will receive and the network fee will be displayed at the lower left of the “Withdraw Crypto” button.
Cryptocurrency withdrawals at Cloudbet are normally complete within 24 hours.

If you don’t have any crypto, you can purchase it easily thanks to a MoonPay integration. However, I’d recommend checking third-party crypto exchanges like Binance, CoinBase, and MEXC, because you’ll probably get a much better deal.
Game Selection
At the time of compiling this Cloudbet casino review, there were over 3,300 games available from almost 100 game studios. Of course, you’ll find the big developers like Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Microgaming, NetEnt, and NoLimit City, but also some interesting smaller brands like Atomic Slot Lab, Foxium, and Pear Fiction.

Like all of the best online casinos, Cloudbet offers thousands of slot games – 3,086 to be precise (kudos to the Cloudbet team for including a running total for each category – it makes my life a lot easier!). A particularly nice feature is the range of filters available, which include sorting by attributes including Feature Buy, Bonus Rounds, Trending, New, Hot, Cold, High Roller, High RTP, Auto Play, Studio, Volatility, and Theme. If you’ve read any of my reviews before, you’ll know how passionate I feel about well-organized categories and logical search features!

This makes it super easy to find a slot to play, even if you don’t have a specific one in mind. For example, searching for a “Wild West” themed slot with a high RTP takes you straight to Money Cart and Money Cart 2 from Relax Gaming. Or specifying a “Fruits” theme with bonus rounds serves up slots like Arctic Fruits from 1X2 Gaming, and Fruit Mania from Gamomat. Of course, you can just search for a specific type of game, like Megaways – which delivers no less than 110 results, including NFT Megaways from Red Tiger and Max Megaways 2 from Big Time Gaming.
Curiously, there’s no “jackpot” attribute in the filters menu, but there is a “Jackpot Slots” category accessible from the main casino navigation menu. This brings up nearly 60 titles, including all-time classic progressive jackpot slots like Mega Moolah from Microgaming (now Games Global), and WOWPot! slots like Cash ‘N Riches WOWPOT! from Triple Edge Studios.
Duel at Dawn (Hacksaw Gaming)
I was in a bit of a Western mood anyway – reminiscing about my time growing up in the Arizona desert – so when I saw Cloudbet promoting this new Hacksaw Gaming slot I figured I should give it a go. Well, I kind of wish I hadn’t.
Don’t get me wrong – it looks great with super atmospheric graphics and has a catchy theme tune – plus it’s loaded with features. However, it is very volatile, and after spending about $50 my biggest win was $8. There were plenty of little $0.20 and $0.50 wins, complete with bullet sounds, but this is one of those slots that you need to play for a long time because the big wins – potentially up to 15,000x your bet – are going to happen during the bonus rounds, which can be few and far between!
Perhaps the most interesting is the DuelReels. These enter the fray when a VS symbol lands, and involve expanding symbols and a duel between the Sheriff and the Outlaw. Depending on who wins, multipliers are added to the entire reel. There’s also an Outlaw feature that expands across a whole reel and features a revolver that shoots various numbers of wilds onto the grid and triggers multipliers of up to 200x. And then there are Wild Wild West free spins, triggered by landing 3 or more scatters. During these, there’s a higher chance of getting high-value multipliers on the DuelReels and Outlaw reels, plus an increased chance of landing VS and Outlaw symbols. Finally, there are Dusk ‘Til Dawn free spins. These give you the chance to earn 4 DuelSpins with guaranteed VS symbols.
This is one of those slots for which I understand why people use the bonus buy option! In fact, Duel at Dawn offers a choice of five bonus buys:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins (costs 3x bet) – Spins are 5x as likely to trigger free spins
- Deadly Duels FeatureSpins (costs 60x bet) – Guaranteed at least 2 VS symbols per spin
- Lone Outlaw FeatureSpins (costs 60x bet) – At least 1 Outlaw symbol with a min 2 bullets guaranteed per spin
- Wild Wild West Bonus (costs 100x bet)
- Dusk ‘Til Dawn Bonus (costs 200x bet)
At 250 options, the choice of live dealer games at Cloudbet is half that of Gamdom’s 500+, but still very respectable. Predictably, the lion’s share of live games are provided by Evolution and Pragmatic Play, but there are also live games from Playtech, On Air Entertainment, Ezugi, and Authentic Gaming.

Blackjack dominates the live dealer catalog, with many variants available including VIP Blackjack, Speed Blackjack, Free Bet Blackjack, and the exclusive Cloudbet Blackjack tables (provided by Evolution). Roulette players are also well provided for with classic French Roulette, European Roulette, and American Roulette, along with variations like Speed Roulette and VIP Roulette. The baccarat selection is more limited, but there’s still a decent choice, with interesting options like Live Japanese Baccarat and Live Caribbean Baccarat. For the most authentic live gaming experience, Cloubet casino also offers live feeds from famous land-based casinos like Bad Homburg and Kensington.
Like all the top online casinos, Cloudbet has leaned into the hot trend of live game shows, with nearly 50 titles on offer. These include the hugely popular Crazy Time and Monopoly Live from Evolution, Sweet Bonanza Candyland and Treasure Island from Pragmatic Play, and Majestic Wheelshow from On Air Entertainment.
Crazy Balls (Evolution)
Game shows are hugely popular at crypto casinos, and nobody does them better than Evolution. So, when I saw Cloudbet was offering early access to a brand-new game, I just had to give it a whirl. And, well, it’s definitely crazy alright. It’s kind of like Evolution just put a bunch of other live games in a blender and poured this thing out. The action revolves around a bingo-style ball machine that throws out balls along a funky tube. Before each round, you get to place bets on 4 standard tickets and 4 bonus games – Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, and Crazy Time.
Is it good? Erm, I’m not sure. It’s definitely vibrant and fast, and does feature multipliers up to an impressive 20,000x – so I think I’ll be playing it again soon. If you like the original Crazy Time you’re going to love this.
At first, it looks like the video table games line-up at Cloudbet is disappointing, with just 43 games showing. However, look closer and you’ll realize that it’s because this category doesn’t include video roulette, blackjack, and baccarat games – which are only accessible via those specific categories. Instead, the “Table Games” category contains video poker, sic bo, andar bahar, teen patti, and first-person game shows… but also, strangely, live anar bahar, live poker, and live hi-lo, etc.

Again, at first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking Cloudbet doesn’t offer any bingo or keno. If you search for “bingo” it returns no games. But, there is a dedicated category accessible via the main casino navigation. In it, you’ll find a handful of games including First Person Lightning Lotto from Evolution, Rainforest Magic Bingo from Play’n GO, Calaca Bingo from Grupo MGA, and Dragon Power Keno from Atomic Slot Lab.
When it comes to blockchain-based provably fair games, the choice at Cloudbet is rather limited. Specifically, it’s just seven games from Spribe. However, these are quality games – for example, Aviator, which is one of the world’s most popular crash games. Also available are Spribe’s Mines, Dice, HiLo, Goal Mines, Keno, and Plinko.

If you’d like to learn more about provably fair games, don’t miss our exclusive Introduction to Provably Fair Gaming.
Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for crash games, and my favorite of all time is Spribe’s Aviator. I’m not entirely sure why – maybe it’s because the plane flies away, which is a bit more uplifting than something actually crashing. Anyway, even though I didn’t win much, I still had a lot of fun. And, in fairness, I was playing it super safe – using the dual bet capability; cashing out the first one as soon as it covered the cost of both bets, and then banking on the second bet to make a profit.
As usual with Aviator, there were hundreds of active players, many making pretty substantial wagers – which always adds to the excitement. Overall, I think this is far more polished and entertaining than the generic own-brand crash games found at many crypto casinos.
A beautifully simple classic, Spribe’s version of HiLo is graphically extremely basic. But, that’s the entire point of HiLo – it strips everything down to an elegantly simple but extremely playable game. After just a few minutes of playing, with small $2 bets, I was about $30 up, so I can’t complain on this one. And, even though I think it’s safe to trust both Spribe and Cloudbet, there is the added peace of mind of knowing you can personally check the fairness of this version of the classic card game.
Although this is primarily a crypto casino review, it’s worth noting that Cloudbet does offer a very comprehensive sportsbook. You can place both pre-match and live bets on a huge choice of traditional sports, ranging from basketball, soccer, tennis, and beach volleyball, to horse racing, motorsports, and golf. There are also interesting markets available for politics and entertainment betting.
In addition to traditional sports, Cloudbet has long been an enthusiastic esports supporter. Today, it offers betting on titles including Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, FIFA, NBA2K, Valorant, League of Legends, Rainbow Six, and Rocket League.
Surprisingly, one thing that does seem to be missing entirely at Cloudbet is virtual sports betting.

Other than the new player sign-up bonus, the only other special offers available at Cloudbet casino, at least at the time of writing, were a couple of network promotions.
Specifically, there was the almost obligatory Drops & Wins from Pragmatic Play, along with the Spinoleague Tournament from Spinomenal. The former had a €2m monthly prize pool, while the latter boasted a €10m prize pool. Both are worth checking out, but neither are really “Cloudbet promos” per se and are available at many other traditional and crypto online casinos.

Cloudbet proclaims that it offers the “most generous and innovative loyalty program anywhere.” Well, that’s quite the claim, so let’s have a look.
So, instead of deposit bonuses or free spins, Cloudbet has gone with the cashback model – or rakeback as they like to call it (because they are “casino people”, apparently). Fair enough. Cashback can be rewarding if it’s simple and a decent percentage.
According to Cloudbet, this is how the rakeback loyalty program works:
- You place bets to earn Rakeback (cashback) – which is calculated as a percentage of the house edge
- A portion of the cashback is deposited straight to your wallet in your active currency, while the rest goes to your Rewards Calendar to claim later
- Rewards unlock from your calendar 3 times each day, from which point you have 12 hours to claim them
- Additional rewards are available to claim daily, weekly, and monthly (based on VIP tier status)
- When you claim a reward, you’ll also trigger TURBO mode, which will temporarily boost your casino rakeback to “much, much bigger percentages of the house edge” resulting in a “massive return on your play.”
Your rakeback rate, the boost you’ll receive from TURBO, and the value of other bonuses are dependent on your VIP tier.

As is normal at crypto casinos, you’ll only find out the specific details of rewards as you unlock them. So, is it the “most generous and innovative loyalty program anywhere?” Who knows.

The Cloudbet help desk can be contacted 24/7 via live chat or email (support [at] cloudbet [dot] com). Additionally, there’s a comprehensive Help Centre with plenty of guides covering everything from account management to using bonuses and promotions.
You can also connect with the Cloudbet team and community via X (formerly Twitter), GitHub, BitcoinTalk, and Discord – which is great if you’re just curious about something and want some pointers.

Aesthetically, Cloudbet is clean and modern. Everything is well laid out and easy to find. But, it’s not exactly what you could call “inspired.” Let’s put it this way, if you couldn’t see the logo or URL, you could be forgiven for forgiven for getting Cloudbet confused with Gamdom, Stake, or many other mainstream crypto casinos. But hey, like I said, everything is easy to find and the user interface works.
In addition to English, Cloudbet is also available in the following languages:
Languages

The one thing that could be improved is the visibility of terms and conditions. While Cloudbet does provide some details up front – for example, clicking “Learn more” on the Welcome Bonus promos does lead you directly to a fairly detailed explanation of the main points – there’s no direct link to the full terms and conditions. This contrasts with clicking “Learn more” on the network promos – like Pragmatic Play’s Drops & Wins – which take you directly to a page containing the full terms and conditions. Obviously, Pragmatic Play has specified these must be clearly displayed by participating operators.
Of course, the full T&Cs for Cloudbet bonus offers are available, but only via links in the footer. It’s almost like they don’t want people to read them! Now, I’m not singling Cloudbet out here – this hesitancy towards bonus terms transparency is all too common at today’s large crypto casinos.
At some point in Cloudbet’s history, there probably was a dedicated mobile app available. But, today, only online casinos licensed in jurisdictions like the UK, New Jersey, and Ontario tend to have Android and iOS apps available via Google Play and the App Store.
But, you can still enjoy Cloudbet on your smartphone using mobile browsers, and the casino is also available via Telegram – meaning you can join and play anonymously directly via the Telegram app. Or at least you can until the “powers that be” finally manage to shut Telegram down.
If the Cloudbet name seems familiar, but you don’t recognize the site, it’s probably because it went through an extensive rebrand in August 2024. According to the company’s Head of Brand and Content, and Head of Design, the new look “is our way of showing the world that under the hood, Cloudbet is hands down the fastest, most modern, most reliable gambling engine anywhere.” Erm. Okay, the new look is nice enough, but there’s no need to get that excited.
Another interesting thing Cloudbet did recently involved the US presidential election. In June 2024 there was a US debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, which saw the now president-elect arguing with the sitting president over their golf handicap. In response, Cloudbet offered a series of prop bets on a potential Trump vs. Biden golf game and pledged to donate $1m to charity if the showdown happened. Unfortunately, the duel never went ahead. Which is probably just as well, because if it was played at Mar-a-Lago, I’m pretty sure Biden would have wandered off into an alligator-infested water hazard at some point.

Well, now we’ve looked at exactly what Cloudbet offers in terms of casino games, bonuses, payment options, and service, let’s see what other players think. But, before we dive into the statistics, as always, it’s important to keep the following in mind when dealing with casino reviews and ratings:
- Many casino affiliates lack objectivity. They will say pretty much anything to get you to sign up and deposit at an online casino so that they earn their commission.
- Some players are sore losers and will turn on a casino if they don’t win as often as they feel they should. A few even seem to make it their life’s mission to write negative reviews and “get revenge.”
- Unfortunately, just like in every other industry, unscrupulous operators will sometimes write bad reviews of their competitors to damage their business.
- Some people just like to complain.
So, to try and get an accurate picture of what players really think, here at CoinBets, we’ve analyzed a total of 1,730 Cloudbet crypto casino reviews. Here’s what we found:
Subject | Details | No. of Mentions |
---|---|---|
Scam Accusations | Some Cloudbet reviewers accused the casino of being a scam because they felt the games were “rigged.” For example, saying “This site is a scam. I played their house games, and the odds were definitely not fair.” Every online casino gets these complaints – usually because some people still don’t understand house edge and RTP (we’ve written a guide to RTP). When playing provably fair games, you can verify the hashes to ensure the results are fair (we’ve got a guide to provably fair games too). | 25.7% |
Customer Support Issues | Over a quarter of negative Cloudbet reviews cited problems with customer support – mostly slow responses and unsatisfactory outcomes. Typical examples include “I waited days to get a response about a payment issue. When finally replied, they didn’t solve anything.” This is likely due to Cloudbet struggling to hire enough support staff. Unfortunately, it’s a common problem at rapidly growing crypto casinos. | 22.6% |
Withdrawal Problems | A significant number of negative reviews mention delayed or blocked withdrawals, often related to player verification processes. For example, “The process for cashing out is so complicated. It’s like they don’t want you to withdraw your money.” Again, this is very common at online casinos and can be very frustrating. In fairness to Cloudbet, they are obliged to be extremely thorough with these checks to comply with international AML (anti-money laundering) requirements. | 14.3% |
Poor Game Selection | A small number of negative reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with Cloudbet’s range of games, particularly table games and sports betting. A typical comment read “Not enough options compared to other crypto casinos. They need more unique games.” Although only mentioned in a handful of reviews, Cloudbet doesn’t offer as much choice as some other crypto casinos. This is especially noticeable in terms of table games, provably fair games, and virtual sports betting. | 3.8% |
Subject | Details | No. of Mentions |
---|---|---|
Good Payouts | Nearly a quarter of positive Cloudbet casino reviews cite good payouts. For example, saying “I withdrew my winnings in less than 24 hours. Couldn’t’ be happier” and “Payouts are seamless. Never had a single issue.” This is great to see and strongly suggests that, once you’ve completed the verification process, payments are usually fast and hassle-free. | 25.7% |
Game Selection | Many reviews of Cloudbet praise the choice of games available, particularly slots and live casino options. For example, saying “They have an amazing selection of slots, plus the live casino games are top-notch!” Overall, I think this is a pretty fair assessment. While Cloudbet might not offer quite as many games as the biggest crypto casino, there are well over 3,000 games from a wide variety of providers. | 22.6% |
Customer Support | Quite a few Cloudbet players have praised the casino’s support staff. Saying, for example, “Support was super quick to resolve my deposit issue. Great service!” and “I had a question about a game, and they answered me within minutes.” Again, this strongly suggests that Cloudbet has good support staff – they probably just need more of them. | 14.3% |
User Experience | Several Cloudbet reviews have mentioned the site’s intuitive design and functionality. For example, saying “The site is easy to navigate, and everything works perfectly on mobile too.” This isn’t surprising. While it’s not going to win any awards for creativity, Cloudbet is a well-put-together crypto casino. Everything is easy to find and it runs smoothly on smartphones too | 3.8% |

Cloudbet
Cloudbet runs smooth and looks sharp, but the “5 BTC” bonus is pure bait. Weak promos, recycled offers, and clickbait marketing hold it back from being a top-tier crypto casino.

Verdict
So, is Cloudbet, the self-proclaimed “OG of crypto casino betting” the world’s best online crypto casino? Well, probably not. But, it is definitely playing in the big league. It’s well-established and everything works. Signing up is super easy and an impressive range of cryptos are supported – for example, it’s great to see privacy coins like Monero and Zcash are accepted. In terms of games, the choice is excellent – even if does fall short of competitors like BC.Game in terms of sheer numbers.
However, a few things do let Cloudbet down. One of those is the lack of standalone promotions and tournaments – with things being pretty much limited to network promos. However, this is somewhat offset by the extensive Cloudbet loyalty program, which does offer plenty of tailored bonuses and rewards. Perhaps the most disappointing thing about Cloudbet is the welcome bonus. It’s not that there isn’t one, or that you can’t get good value from it – it’s more the rather disingenuous way it is promoted. As I explained, the “5 BTC” is pretty much just clickbait. To me at least, this kind of marketing is cynical and leaves a bad taste. But, Cloudbet isn’t alone in doing this – for example, BC.Game and BitStarz employ similar approaches – so some would argue it is par for the course in the world of crypto casinos.
Overall, as long as you remain realistic and make sure you fully understand the bonuses and promos before committing, Cloudbet is a compelling crypto casino. I enjoyed playing there. But, as always, there’s only one way to find out if Cloudbet is the best crypto casino for you, and that’s to sign up and try it. And, if you do, we’d love it if you shared your thoughts with the CoinBets community (see how to write a CoinBets review).
Until next time, have fun and remember to gamble responsibly
