As one of Sol Casino’s most popular slots, I figured I’d give Pragmatic Play’s Gates of Olympus a few spins.
Unfortunately, after just a couple of rounds, it crashed to a blank screen. The autospin did keep running (I could hear it), and at the end I’d bet 50 USDT and won back just 27.15 — giving a pitiful RTP of 54.3%.
Needless to say, the video was pretty boring, so I binned that.
FRKN Bananas (Hacksaw Gaming)
Being from my favorite provider, Hacksaw, I hoped that FRKN Bananas would bring me better luck — or at least run without crashing.
Well, it did run okay, but definitely didn’t bring better luck. In fact, after betting 30 USDT, I’d won a pathetic 8.94 back — a real RTP of just 29.8%. Ouch.
Still, the game itself is fun. It features Hacksaw’s signature retro toon-style graphics (which I love), and some interesting mechanics like Banana Spread and Go Bananas. There’s also two different bonus games — though I didn’t manage to trigger either. And the max win is a very respectable 10,000x your bet.
The theoretical RTP of this slot is 94.29%, and it’s extremely volatile. So, really, it wasn’t the best slot to play with a limited budget. I think coming back to this with a few hundred bucks and plenty of time would probably deliver some interesting results. But, in this specific case, I figured it would be a good idea to move on to a more dependable slot. Something classic…
Book of Dead (Play’n GO)
Something like Book of Dead from Play’n GO! Yes, yes, I know, it’s still a highly volatile slot with a relatively low theoretical RTP of 94.25% — but I’ve played it a lot since it was released way back in 2016. And, for me at least, it’s delivered plenty of good wins.
Unfortunately, today, it bucked that trend. Yep, after betting 25 USDT, I’d only won back 17.50 — giving a real RTP of just 70%. But again, thanks to my disastrous start with Gates of Olympus, my bankroll just wasn’t enough to give this slot the time needed.
Oh well, as every slot player knows, some days just aren’t lucky. There’s always tomorrow.

After my disastrous slot sessions, I really needed to boost my balance. So, I decided to do a CoinBets Challenge on the provably fair Wheel game from InOut.
The challenge was simple: my balance was down to a lowly 49.28 USDT, so I aimed to get it back above $100.
I placed 50 USDT worth of bets — starting off at $1 per bet, but increasing it to $2 per bet after the first dozen spins. Mostly, I bet on red (3x multiplier), but I did wager on blue (5x multiplier) a few times, and even green (50x) towards the end.

So, all things considered, what’s my take on Sol Casino?
It’s got a huge games catalog that features titles from all the most popular providers as well as quite a few smaller studios. And the catalog is well-organized with plenty of filters, making browsing very easy. The range of instant games, including crash and provably fair titles, is also impressive. However, there are a few holes in the line-up – for example, the lack of baccarat, no in-house originals, and only a small number of tournaments and promotions.
Although Sol Casino is relatively transparent with its bonus terms, when it comes to signing up, it feels a little underhanded. Sure, you can open an account without handing over personal details — but you can’t play for real money until you’ve divulged them. Then there’s the payments. On the one hand, this casino supports both crypto and fiat payments, but on the other, the range of cryptos is limited.
In a nutshell, Sol Casino is a regular online casino that accepts crypto rather than a crypto-first platform. There’s no tokenization, no NFTs – nothing really crypto-specific about it. And, of course, like all Curaçao-licensed casinos, there’s a long list of prohibited countries.
So, if you’re from an accepted country and want a hybrid crypto-fiat casino offering loads of slots, then Sol Casino may be worth a try. But if you’re after a Web3 crypto-first casino, there are better options.
